Springfield - Johnnie Joseph Rivera, 39, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, February 14th, 2021. Johnnie known as Blaze was born on February 9, 1982, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Johnnie was an avid fisherman and loved being by the river in his spare time. He also loved trying new foods from different restaurants. He was a friend to many, a brother to all, and a protector of his family. Johnnie is survived by his father, Alejandro Rivera of Springfield; his son Roberto De'Lion Alicea of Springfield; his brothers Luis and Scott Rivera both of Springfield; his sister Tanea Weissleder and her two daughters and three sons all of Springfield; a great nephew of Springfield; several aunts, uncles and close cousins from surrounding areas. Johnnie was predeceased by his mother, Karen Rivera. Calling Hours will be on Monday, February 22nd, 2021, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA, followed by his burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield Massachusetts.
