Christine Vanaria

Of Waltham, died Sunday, June 12th, at the Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 79. The daughter of the late Giacomo and Caterina (Rando) Vanaria, she was born, raised and educated in Waltham where she had been a lifelong resident. A longtime employee of the Waltham Deaconess Hospital she had worked in the hospital kitchen. As a young woman she had work at the Puritan Dress Company. Ms. Vanaria enjoyed bingo and coffee hour with her friends at the nursing home. She had been a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish and had been a member of the church choir. Enjoying to socialize she had also played piano. She is survived by her sisters, Giovanna Melisi and her husband Pasquale of Marlborough and Eleanore Arsenault and her husband Jerard of Nashua and her sisters in law, Theresa Vanaria of Colorado and Eleanor Vanaria of Waltham. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Josephine Taranto and her husband, Gaetano, Mary Zeolla, Basil Vanaria, Joseph Vanaria, Angelina Lando and her husband Carl, Salvatore Vanaria and his wife Mary. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in Celebration of Christina's Life on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.
