William Connelly Obituary

Connelly, William Michael, “Bill”, age 54, owner of William M. Connelly Home Improvement, passed away suddenly on August 21, 2017. Bill was the beloved son of Helen Joan (Bolger) Connelly of Dracut formerly of Waltham and the late Paul Joseph Connelly. He was a loving father of Michael William Connelly of Dracut. He is survived by his devoted sister Marianne Keene and husband Thomas of Waltham, devoted sister Kathleen McLane and husband Michael of Dracut, devoted brother Paul Connelly and wife Barbara (Donahue) of Pembroke, his former wife and dear friend Gretchen Cahaly of Newton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews - Jillian Keene of Waltham, Sarah, Brian and Jason McLane of Dracut, Colleen Connelly of Pembroke, Erin Flood and her husband Zack of Alaska, and Alison Connelly of Amherst, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bill had a special place in his heart for his former mother-in-law Janet Cahaly of Newton and her extended family and friends. Bill had a large love of life and an extraordinary work ethic. His strong attention to detail was exemplary. He was an ardent motorcycle enthusiast and loved traveling the country on his motorcycle with friends. Bill was an avid coin collector, antique seeker and a skilled fisherman. His scrabble wizardry was legendary. An avid baseball fan, Bill loved following the Boston Red Sox. Teasing his nieces and nephews was a source of amusement for them all. Bill was an immensely devoted and caring son to mother Helen and to his son Michael. He had an extraordinarily compassionate and bottomless heart. To his family and friends he was loyal and generous to a fault, always willing to drop everything to lavish aid and attention whenever possible. Bill was playful and rambunctious, he made it so easy for us to love him. His smile would light up the room and our light has been dimmed by our loss. His happiest times were spent with loving friends and family. Sadly addiction has taken our smart, witty, handsome Billy from us. He will be dearly missed by all. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Bill's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Tuesday, August 29, at 10 am Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
