William P. McEvoy Obituary

Of Wrentham formerly of Waltham & North Andover, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening Aug. 15th, 2017 at the Wrentham Developmental Center at the age of 67.

Born on October 22, 1949 in Methuen; beloved son of the late John T. McEvoy and M. Claire (McDonnell) McEvoy, Bill was a resident of the Walter E. Fernald State School for many years before moving to the Wrentham Developmental Center in 2010.  

Bill was a lovable person who will be dearly missed by the residents and support staff of the Marion Mall Hall. They were his family and provided exceptional care to him over the years. 

Bill loved his walks outside, people watching and van rides. He enjoyed live entertainment, listening to music and religious services. He found great enjoyment through pet therapy especially with "Rocky" the cat. Bill was known for his classic key ring.

He is survived by his loving siblings Eileen Brien and her husband Andrew of North Andover, Daniel McEvoy and his wife Susan of North Andover and Joseph McEvoy of Amesbury. In addition he is survived by an aunt, uncle and several nieces & nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his dear brothers the late John T. McEvoy Jr. and Paul McEvoy.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of William’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St, WALTHAM on Saturday Aug. 19th at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday prior to the Funeral Service from 11a.m. -12 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Bill in his final days.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wrentham Developmental Center, 131 Emeral St, Wrentham, MA 02093.
