Obituary for Bernice T. Murphy

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 3, 2008 for Bernice T. (McDonough) Murphy. Mrs. Murphy passed away in the Meadow Green Nursing Center, Waltham, MA on June 28 2008, after a long illness at the age of 85. Mrs. Murphy was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire. A daughter of the late Bernard & Agnes (Donovan) McDonough. She was raised in Lancaster & graduated from the Lancaster Academy in Lancaster, NH. A stay home mother, she raised her six children and was an accomplished seamstress. Sewing costumes for the Barbara Secord Dance Studio and the Watertown High School Band. She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 77 years, the St. Catharine of Siena Sodality at the former Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish in Watertown and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, A.O.H. Division #14 Ladies Auxillary of Watertown.She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond A. "Al" Murphy, Jr. (former Watertown Firefighter); devoted mother of Denise Thomas & her husband Mike of Charlton, Ray & his wife Sarah of Hudson, Joanne of Cambridge, Bernard "Ted" of Shirley, Patricia Salvo & her husband Michael of Lincolnville, ME & Kathleen Gebhardt & her husband Rob of Yreka, CA.; dear sister of Mary Brann of Groveton, NH & Bernard McDonough of Fayetteville, NC. and the late Lawrence McDonough, Susan Smith & Annie Kimball; loving grandmother of David & Adam Piselli, Katherine Murphy, Melissa & Jessica Johnson and Caitlin Murphy and loving great-grandmother of Christopher & Brooke Piselli.Funeral services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 O'Clock in the Church of St. Patrick 212 Main St. Watertown. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.Contributions made in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central NE Chapter, 101A First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-1115 would be appreciated.
