A Funeral Service honoring Bridget (Maye) "Beezy" McDonagh, 87 will be celebrated on, Monday, July 20th, at the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main Street Watertown, MA.
Mrs. McDonagh, a daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget (Reilly) Maye, was born in Athboy, Co. Meath, Ireland. She was raised and educated in Ireland and came to the United States in 1949. For the past 40 years she has resided in Watertown, MA. Mrs. McDonagh, a member of the Ladies Hibernians, Division 14, Watertown, served on many committees and was very active with monthly family suppers. She was also instrumental in the ongoing development of the Irish Cultural Center in Canton, MA. After a long period of declining health, Mrs. McDonagh died on Thursday, July 16, 2009 in the Cedar Glen Care and Rehabilitation Center, Danvers, MA.
She was the beloved wife for 55 years of Patrick J. McDonagh; devoted mother of Joan McDonagh-Brault and her husband Arthur Brault of Amherst, NH; Brian McDonagh and his wife Donna McDonagh of Hudson, NH; Aileene MacEachern and her husband Gary MacEachern of Lynnfield, MA; dear sister of John Maye of Phoenix, AZ, James Maye of Livonia, MI, Margaret Fulham of Co. Meath, Ireland, Mary T. MacNeela of Harstdale, NY, Ann Maye of Hampton, NJ and the late Sr. Annette Maye, O.P., Kathleen Buckley, Judy Gralton, and Patrick Maye. Her culinary talents, quick wit and strong will endeared her immensely to her loving grandchildren Alanna, Jocelyn and Delaney Brault, Ryan McDonagh, and Alexander, Devon and Paige MacEachern.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 19th from 4-6 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main Street on Rte. 20, Watertown. Funeral Services will be on Monday, July 20th at 10 AM at the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home followed by interment in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown, MA.
