Funeral Services for Earl Thomas Spicer, 77, will be held on Tuesday, July 21st in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main St., Watertown.
Mr. Spicer, a son of the late Thomas E. and Alfreda (Briand) Spicer was born in Boston, Mass. He grew up and educated in Boston, graduating from Boston Technical High School. He had worked in Army research and designed parachutes for various companies. Mr. Spicer, an active Mason, was a member of the Simon W. Robinson Lodge AF & AM in Lexington and Aleppo Temple where he was a member of the Oriental Band of the Shriners. In addition, he enjoyed photography, stamp collecting and genealogy. Mr. Spicer died on Saturday morning, July 18, 2009, at his residence after a period of declining health.
He was the beloved husband for 54 years of Alice S. (Torigian); devoted father of Linda Shanahan and her husband Brendan Shanahan of Watertown and Thomas A. Spicer and his wife Diane Spicer of Ft. Meyers, Fla; and loving grandfather of Deirdre A. Shanahan, Brendan S. Shanahan, Rachael C. Spicer and Zachary T. Spicer.
The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte.20, Watertown. Calling hours will be on Tuesday afternoon and evening, prior to the service, from 4-7:30 PM. A Masonic Service by the Simon W. Robinson Lodge AF & AM of Lexington will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath, Maine at a later date.Charitable donations may be made in Earl's memory to the following organization:
