Obituary for Elizabeth Rita Stinehart

A Funeral Mass for Elizabeth Rita (Linehan) Stinehart of Watertown, will be celebrated in the Church of St Patrick, Watertown on Friday December 27, 2013 at 9 am.

Mrs Stinehart, a daughter of the late John and Ellen (O’Callaghan) Linehan died in the Marsthill Nursing Center, Waltham on Saturday December 21, 2013 surrounded by family.

A lifelong resident of Watertown, she graduated from St. Patrick High School, class of 1941. Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing in 1945 and Boston College School of Nursing with an RN. She worked at United States Public Hospital, Brighton Marine Hospital and local hospitals, Mt Auburn and New England Medical.

A member of the Central Directory for Nurses, publicity chairperson for Watertown Women’s Club, Watertown Garden Club, Catholic Daughter of America, Guild of St Radegonde of Boston, Massachusetts Nurses Assoc. Lido Beach Women’s Club, Lido Beach Civic Club and St. John’s Parish in St. Pete’s Beach, FL.

She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer I. Stinehart. Devoted mother of Maureen V. Marx of Charlestown, Ellen M. Wright of Westmorland, NH, Kathleen Saroufim & her husband Elie of Roslindale, Denise Stinehart of Mashpee, Charles M. & his wife Janet of West Newton, John D. & his wife Linda of Winchendon, Kurt & his wife Kristine of Watertown, Karl J. & his wife Elizabeth of Southwick and Marie Brainard & her husband Gary St. Pete, FL. Dear sister of Rev. Maurice F. Linehan, M.S of Hartford, CT, Sr. Eileen Linehan, OP of Watertown, and the late Marie M. Schiavone & John J. Linehan. Loving grandmother of 30 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, WATERTOWN on Friday Dec. 27, 2013 at 8:00 A.M., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the St. Patrick Food Pantry, 25 Chestnut St., Watertown, MA 02472.
