A Funeral Mass for Mary M. McNally, 95, will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.
Ms. McNally, a daughter of the late John F. and Charlotte A. (McSherry) McNally, was born in Watertown. She was a lifelong resident of the town and a graduate of Saint Patrick Grammar School and Watertown High School. After graduation from Simmons College in Boston, she was appointed to the staff of the Watertown Free Public Library. She retired as Head Reference Librarian in the 1980s after 50 years of dedicated service. She was known and well respected for her knowledge and ability as a reference librarian.
She was devoted to her family and friends. Mary loved literature and poetry and other pastimes included gardening and an interest in history and animal life. Ms. McNally was a member of the Watertown Historical Society, the Audubon Society, as well as, a lifelong member of Saint Patrick Parish. She died on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at her residence, after a period of declining health.
She was the dear sister of the late James D. McNally and the late Eileen T. McNally; sister-in-law of Virginia McNally of Md; and is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 14th from 4-7 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
