Obituary for Robert Allan Lindahl

A Funeral Mass for Robert Allan Lindahl, 70, will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Lindahl, a son of the late Robert E. "Pete" and Mildred A. (Sheehan) Lindahl, was born in Newton. He was a lifelong Watertown resident and graduated from Watertown High School. Mr. Lindahl served in the National Guard of Massachusetts and was a member of the Amvets Post in Watertown. He was a devoted parishoner of Saint Patrick Parish and for many years served as an usher at the weekend Masses.

For decades he was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pequossette Aerie 1928 in Watertown and was serving as its Worthy Chaplain. He had been re-elected to this post many times and one of his last official acts was to present a check to St. Patrick’s Food Pantry on behalf of the Watertown Eagles. Mr. Lindahl was a truck driver and had worked at Bemis Associates in Watertown for many years. He enjoyed all the sports and his hometown. Mr. Lindahl died suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

He was the dear brother of Bonnie A. Murray and her husband Lenny Murray of Derry, NH and the late Kenneth F. Lindahl and his surviving wife Muriel Lindahl of Waltham; uncle of Paul Murray, Peter Murray and Kevin Murray.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. , Watertown. Interment Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be on Monday, January 30th from 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.
