Obituary for Roderick B. MacIver

Rod MacIver was born in Millville, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada on August 27, 1927 and attended a single room school house for his early education. He came to the United States in 1947 and was employed by Ark-Les Switch Corporation in Watertown before joining the MacGray Company in Cambridge, MA leading to a Management Position from which he retired after a very successful career of 28 years. Rod was an extremely hard working and trusted employee covering all New England States calling on Colleges, Military Bases, and Apartment Complexes, and others.

Many comments were received from the Corporation customers on what a great example he set for others to follow and developed great friendships to those he came in contact with. Always offering a helping hand, Rod and his Wife Peg were active Members for many years participating in groups at the Newton Presbyterian Church in Newton, MA and the Masonic Pequossette Lodge in Watertown, MA.

They lived in Waltham, MA and he truly will be missed by all of those that knew him. He was the beloved husband of Peg. Predeceased by sisters Marion, Heather and brother Leonard. Survived by brothers Donell, Calvin and Kenneth. No children of his own but loved, cherished and worked with many, many others.

Rod peacefully joined the Lord on Friday, January 27th @ 11:00 a.m. after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease where he was a patient at The Dorothy Frances Home in Waltham, MA

Visiting hours will be 10:00 a.m., Church Service at 11:00 a.m. and luncheon at Noon on Tuesday, January 31st.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend these services at the Newton Presbyterian Church, 75 Vernon Street, Newton, MA at Exit 17 on the Mass. Turnpike.

Burial will be at the Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham, MA.
