Obituary for William A. Forsythe

A Funeral Mass for William Austin Forsythe, 80, will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31, 2008 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.Mr. Forsythe, the seventh child of ten children of Jason H. and Florence A. (Cummiskey) Forsythe, was born in Watertown. He grew up in Newton and Watertown and was a graduate of Our Lady, Help of Christians High School, Newton. A veteran of the Army Air Force during World War II, he continued his service in the US Air Force for another 10 years. Mr. Forsythe was a retired Postal Clerk at the South Postal Annex in Boston.Mr. Forsythe had also lived for many years in Clearwater, Florida, before moving back to Bellingham several years ago. He was great piano player and was always counted on to entertain family and friends. He died at Wingate at Needham, on Sunday evening, July 27, 2008. He was the devoted brother of Bernice Courtney of Bellingham and the late Muriel Lyons, M. Violet Keaveney, Thomas Forsythe, Joseph Forsythe, Dorothy Foley, Anna Forsythe, Leo Forsythe, and Ruth Finacchiaro; he was also loved by many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Thursday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 30th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street.
