Evelyn Schuster

Schuster, Evelyn J. (Capobianco) 86, in Waban, formerly of Brighton, passed away peacefully at her home with those she loved by her side on May 26, 2013. Daughter of the later John and Rose Capobianco; She was predeceased by her three sisters: Margaret, Angela and Josephine; and her companion Robert “Bob” Burns. She is survived by her daughter Janet and her husband Edward H. Cardoza, Jr.; her beautiful ragdoll cat, Gina; cherished friends and extended family; a nephew and four nieces. Evelyn was a 1948 graduate of Boston University with a degree in Journalism. She later went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education from University of Massachusetts at Boston. She worked as an office manager and later as a teacher in the Boston Public Schools. In retirement she volunteered as a literacy tutor for various age groups. Evelyn enjoyed travel, reading, writing fiction, fine dining, theatre, going to the movies, weekly dinner dates at Cabot’s, and a good laugh! Forever young at heart, she was interested in keeping up with the latest news and advances in technology. She was an avid Red Sox fan, and in recent years, took great interest in and cheering for the Celtics and Bruins. Her gentle spirit, together with her cheerful and optimistic attitude towards life will be remembered and embraced by all who knew and loved her. She greeted each day with a smile and a grateful heart. Evelyn’s favorite charities were those that sought to care for those who could not care for themselves.
