Dorothy Irene Rogers

Dorothy Irene Rogers, 88, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was born on October 27, 1931, the daughter of John and Arletta (Lesli) Wellington. Dorothy worked as a secretary at Clark Equipment for 20 years before her retirement. She frequently attended church services at Victory Life Church in Battle Creek. Dorothy is survived by her Two Daughters, Denise M. Rogers and Renee A. (Michael) Burrows; Two Sons, Richard Y. Rogers and Charles W. (Donna) Rogers; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren, a family of five generations. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Bobby Youin Rogers and Daughter, Debra L. Sanchez. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, she liked to create pillows, blankets or dolls for the children. She enjoyed spreading the word of Jesus and handing out Bibles to anyone she came across. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, roller skating and traveling to Florida every year. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Morgan Cemetery, on Monday, July 6, 2020 starting at 2:30 pm with Pastor Cheryl Jones officiating. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside services can meet directly at the cemetery. Following Covid-19 guidelines, only 10 visitors will be allowed in the funeral home for visitation. Interment will take place in the Morgan Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Affairs, Police or St. Jude Children's' Research.
