Wanda Monarch

Wanda Jean (Parker) Monarch, 68, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at home. She was born June 11, 1951, the daughter of Henry Eugene and Beulah Parker, who preceded her in death. Wanda graduated from Lakeview High School in 1969. She worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at the VA Medical Center for 5 years. She was a committee member for the Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts for several years while their son A.J. became an Eagle Scout. Wanda and John loved helping the scouts and participating in their events. Wanda’s family includes John Monarch, her husband of 44 years, son A.J. Monarch, and granddaughters Liz Conrad, and Sarah; special family friend Becky; Stepdaughter Catherine Sue; Stepdaughter Melissa JoAnn (Charlie) Church, and step-grandsons Steven Burris, Matthew Church and Hunter Church. Her family also included sisters: Anna Sue (Doug) Weese, Linda Parker, Kathy (Bob) Whitman, Carolyn (Rick) Frantz; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Wanda sang karaoke and loved listening to music. She played many different instruments including organ, and guitar. She especially enjoyed playing French horn in the high school band and at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, where she earned a scholarship. Wanda was an avid lover of all animals, including dogs, cats, bird and horses. And she enjoyed fishing with her husband, barbeques with her family, and bird watching.
