Elizabeth (Ann) Thielman Learmont Bootjack—Ann Learmont, 82, a resident of Bootjack passed away May 13, 2020 at Medilodge od Milford where she had been a patient for 3 weeks. Ann was born September 17, 1937, in Laurium a daughter of the late Robert C. and Florence M. (Berner) Thielman. She graduated from Calumet High School class of 1955 and attended Northern Michigan University. She married Tom Learmont in 1957 and they lived in Marquette, Calumet, Ferndale and Royal Oak before returning to Calumet in 1967. She lived in an apartment over the former Armstrong-Thielman Lumber Co. for 50 years and retired to her cottage in Bootjack. Ann worked at the family business (Armstrong-Thielman Lumber Co.) for 10 years before it closed in 1977. She was then a teller at Superior National Bank & Trust Hubbell and Lake Linden branches for 23 years retiring in April 2001. She was proceeded in death by her parents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her cottage at Bootjack. Ann was an avid bowler being a team member at several local bowling alleys. She looked forward to her monthly class of 1955 and Bootjack Belle luncheons. Survivors include her sons Bob (Val) Learmont of Howell, MI., Don (Jennifer) Learmont of White Lake, MI. Her sister Virginia (Paul) Marcotte of Bootjack. Grandchildren Keith (Krista) Learmont, Kaitlin (Ed) Schilla, Halie, Trevor, and Hannah Learmont. Greatgrandchildren Peter, Payton Tilly and Toby. Graveside service and burial will be held at Lake View Cemetery on May 28, 2020 at 11:00 am. Memorials in Ann’s honor to be given to Bootjack Fire and Rescue Foundation, 47715 Bootjack Road, Lake Linden, Michigan 49945.
