Jeannette Smith

Jeannette “Smitty” Smith, 72, of Bronson passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her home. A service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Jeannette was born August 15, 1939 in Van Wert, Ohio to Glenn and Annetta (Upp) Baer. Jeannette had lived in Bronson since the early 1960’s and was a member of First Congregational Church in Bronson. She retired from Bronson Plating where she had started working in September 1972. She loved bowling and had played on leagues in Sturgis, Bronson and the Senior League at Midway Lanes in Coldwater. She was an avid Tiger Baseball fan who enjoyed going out to eat and traveling. Jeannette is survived by her brothers Robert Baer of Van Wert, OH, Donald Baer and Charles Baer of Convoy, OH, sisters Betty Wyandt and Bonnie Speelman of Van Wert, OH, NaDonna Schumm of Bluffton, IN, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kim in 1986, sisters Annie Rase, Juanita Black and Glendora Baer, brothers Carl and Walter Baer and half-sister Vera Nortley. Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church in Bronson or to the American Cancer Society.
