Philip Shidler

Philip Jay Shidler, 67, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Community Health Center of Branch County. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Interment will follow at Sorter Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 3:00 – 5:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Philip was born June 19, 1949 to Galen and Margaret (Bechtel) Shidler in Goshen, Indiana. He was employed in maintenance for 19 years at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. Philip enjoyed bowling as he was on several leagues in Coldwater for many years. He also enjoyed eating ice cream everyday, watching the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Pistons, golfing, fishing, civil war history, traveling especially out west to Las Vegas and spending time in the winter in Arizona. He is survived by his wife Janet E. Moog, whom he married on December 5, 1980 in Coldwater, his children; Philip Shidler Jr. of Garrett, Indiana and Brian (Nicole) Shidler of Coldwater, his 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his brother, Michael (Carol) Shidler of Goshen, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial donations may be directed to the Community Health Center of Branch County Cancer Center.
