Phillip C. Rollins Obituary

Philip Craig Rollins was born on January 28, 1961 to parents Clarence and Avernell Rollins in Detroit, Michigan. Affectionately known as "Craig" to family and friends, Craig attended and graduated from Detroit Public Schools (DPS). As a young man, he learned the trade of HVAC (heating and cooling) from his dad and older brothers and eventually found employment with National Heating and Cooling. His dad, Clarence, and two older brothers, Sandy and Jeff Rollins, preceded him in death. Dabbling in several specialties, Craig worked as a cableman for Barden Cablevision, a truck driver for DPS, and various other jobs. He was a committed and dedicated worker and made a host of friends through his employment networks.

Craig accepted Christ at an early age and regularly attended mass, recently becoming a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Detroit. He married his soulmate, Audrey, on October 27, 1990.

Craig was the life of the party! He enjoyed dancing and singing his favorite songs by the Dramatics, the Temptations, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Bobby Womack, and Incognito. He also loved watching TV-especially westerns-and it was hard to get him to switch to anything else. Craig was easily and well-liked and never met a stranger. He had the "hook up" for just about everything and was the go-to guy to fix something. He lived his life out loud, never afraid to speak his mind. For his family, there was nothing you could not ask of him and he would come through. He loved taking trips down to Mississippi and always brought a piece of the culture back with him. His Mississippi roots ran deep and stories of his adventures and escapades will be greatly missed.

Craig transitioned into new life on December 30, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Rollins; his children Phillip Craig Williams (Flint), Antoine Phillip Rollins (Shavonti), and Terri Denise Granger; his grandchild Phillip Craig Williams, Jr.; his mother, Avernell Rollins; his siblings Sherry Ann Willis (Richard), Aldwin Rollins, Ray Anthony Rollins (Helen), SanJuan Rollins (Valerie), Cynthia Montgomery, Lisa Ragland (Dexter), Bridgette Rollins and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
