Trishtan “Kelly” Stough was born November 2, 1982, the only child of the late Gregory Kent Stough and Jessica Chantae (Williams) Stough.
He attended Raphael Tabernacle Church of Christ in Detroit, Michigan where he accepted Christ at an early age. He shared his gift of song with his beautiful voice for many years singing in the choir. He was also a self-taught tambourinist who electrified the church when he played.
Trishtan graduated from David Mackenzie High School in 2000 where he was a member of the Avant Garde Greek organization and the award-winning concert and gospel choirs. Trishtan excelled in many sports, earning all-state and MVP in swimming and a full athletic scholarship to Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Trishtan was multi-talented, and he later pursued his love of beauty and fashion while studying Fashion Design at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago, Illinois. During this time, he made the courageous choice to embrace her true self and live her life as Kelly. She later became a treasured advocate and mentor in the LGBTQ community.
Kelly had a kind, compassionate, funny, fun-loving, charismatic, larger-than-life personality. She was known for her boldness, honesty, and enormous heart.
Sadly, we lost this beautiful spirit on December 7, 2018. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her mother; her grandmother, Patricia Hale; her aunts: Angelia Joyce Brazil-Mapson; Gerrie Miller (Mark); Dronda Muhammad (Anthony); her uncle, Marvin Brazil (Renata); her cousins: Duran Mapson; Nicole Cone (Christopher); Akosua Miller; Larry D. Johnson Jr.; Mark Valen Miller; Micah Miller; Logan Johnson; Noah Miller; and a host of other cousins, extended family, and friends, including her special friend, Joshua Lamar, and her best friend since childhood, Rayshawn Anderson.
