Steven Majors Obituary

Steven Edward Majors, age 32, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at his home in Clinton Township, Michigan. Steven was born on December 22, 1986 in Warren, Michigan to James Hershel Majors and Wanda Lee Coots. As a child, Steven was noted to be a prankster and jokester. Even as he grew up, he loved to be noted as the ‘joker of the family’. Steven went to Lincoln schools for most of his life. He met his wife, Marilyn, in middle school. She officially ‘locked him in’ to dating when they were 17. The couple finally wed on August 22, 2015. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Aunica and Kaylin. Steven named both of his daughters because he wanted their names to be unique. Steven started off his career as an Electrician and Contractor for KUKA. He continued to work extremely hard. Eventually, he landed a position at UTEC. The company paid for his classes and he ultimately became a Robotics Programmer. Steven had a passion for the outdoors. Most importantly, he loved his toys. He enjoyed four wheeling and jet skiing at his Dad’s cabin up north on Elbow Lake. He and Marilyn would take the jet skis out on Houghton Lake since it was bigger to give them more room to ride. He loved to travel, but especially enjoyed Florida. Steven enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions play football, despite their record, and binge-watching Game of Thrones with Marilyn. He was famous for his BBQ. The most notable dishes of Steven’s grill are Steak, BBQ Chicken, and Brats. Everyone, including his family, always raved about his BBQ Skills. Most importantly, Steven was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to take his daughters outside, to the splash pad, to their local park, and on bike rides. He especially enjoyed making sandcastles with the girls at the beach. Steven, a family man and the life of the party, will be missed by many. He has joined all those he has missed in Heaven. Him and his friends are riding their four wheelers up above. Steven was the loving husband of Marilyn. He was the cherished father of Aunica and Kaylin. Dear son of Wanda Lee Coots and James Hershel Majors. Adored brother of Jason, Tony, Christopher, and Brittany. Precious grandson of Beulah “Kitty” Dale. Beloved son-in-law Tammy (Bruce Trottier) Bannister and Joe Bannister. Brother-in-law of Edith, Michael, and Taylor. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many friends. Visitation for Steven will be held on Friday, August 30 from 5 to 8 PM and again on Saturday, August 31 from 1 to 8 PM with a 4 pm prayer service followed by a eulogy on Saturday at Chas. Verheyden Inc- Schultz Chapel, 21705 Gratiot, Eastpointe 48021. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Please share a memory at verheyden.org
