Margurette Lucile Smith – age 93 of Lake, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at The Horizon Senior Living in Gladwin. She was born on May 3, 1924 the daughter of George Wendall and Verna Ethel (Redicliffe) Griggs in Elk Township, Sanilac County, Michigan. Margurette married Kenneth Frederick Smith on January 13, 1945 in Dearborn, Michigan. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2007. She is survived by a son, Alan and wife Liz Smith of Lake, MI; a daughter Gayle and husband Brian VanHyfte of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a son in-law, Richard Cronce of South Gate, MI; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Margurette was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Cronce; a granddaughter, Jessica M. Weiss; a brother, Lee Griggs; 2 sisters: Beatrice O’Neil and Lorraine Miller.
