Evaline Jennings

Evaline D. Jennings 72 of Harrison passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at her home. Evaline was born April 6, 1938 in Portland, Michigan, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Brown) Brown. Evaline was united in marriage to Mr. Richard Jennings on July 9, 1955 in New Era, Michigan. Mr. Jennings preceded Evaline in death in 1996. Mrs. Jennings had resided in Harrison since 2001, coming from Vestaburg, Michigan. Evaline enjoyed working cross-word puzzles, card games, playing cribbage and was a great maker of homemade biscuits. Surviving are her five daughters: Norma Lynn Knopes of Magnolia, Arkansas, Virginia Gail Fitch and husband Gerald of Michigan, Melody Jennings of Lake Ojibwa, Michigan, Wanda Carlton and husband Mick of Harrison and Sherry Kelch of Grand Rapids, Michigan, seven sons: Stanley Jennings and wife Sherrie of Lake Isabella, Michigan, Ronald Dean Jennings also of Lake Isabella, Robert W. Jennings, David A. Jennings, Richard Kelch and wife Pam of Wayland, Michigan, Jerry D. Kelch of Tampa, Florida and Brian S. Kelch also of Tampa, three sisters: Elizabeth Manners of Harrison, Eva Smith and husband David of Bellevue, Michigan and Alice Robinson and husband Wally of Springport, Michigan, a half brother, David Feaster and wife Eva of Onaway, Michigan, twenty nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jennings also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Emma Brown and Phoebie Brown, two half sisters: Rebecca Waite and Violet Durham and two half brothers: Franklin Feaster and Charles Feaster. In following Mrs. Jennings wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements for Mrs. Jennings are entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison (989) 539-7810.
