James Simms

James “Jim” Frederick Simms 77 of Harrison, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 5, 2020. James was born November 9, 1942 in Wyandotte, Michigan the son of Joseph Frederick Simms and Lillian (McDougall) Simms. James graduated from Taylor Center High School, Taylor, Michigan. Mr. Simms was united in marriage to Ms. Carol Ann Keezer on June 6, 1992 in Taylor, Michigan. Mr. Simms retired from City of Taylor in 1998 after twenty-five plus years of dedicated service working in the Department of Public Works Water Division. Jim has resided in rural Harrison since 1998, moving from Taylor. Jim was passionate about caring for his property and home. He loved being surrounded by nature. He found great enjoyment sharing his life with his wife Carol. Jim enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, UofM Football and old Western Movies. Surviving Mr. Simms is his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Mrs. Carol Ann Simms of Harrison, three sons; James “Jimmy” Simms and his fiancé and best friend, Laurie Rynkowski-Carter of Taylor, Michael Simms also of Taylor and Terry Sullivan and wife Becky of Taylor, one daughter, Kathy Ferro and husband Phil of Gibraltar, Michigan, seven grandchildren; Zachary, Kaylah, Michael, Philip, Brandon, Rachael and Owen, four sisters; Kat of Taylor, Linda of Saginaw, Michigan, June and husband Bob of Taylor and Marge of Wyandotte, one brother, Joe of Texas, plus many nieces, nephews and his beloved fur baby, Buddy. Mr. Simms was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Jessica Daneilla Simms, one sister, Charlotte and two brothers; Ken and John.
