Thomas Mack Garris 85 of Harrison passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Midland. Mr. Garris was born August 13, 1926 in Sharon, Texas, the son of Clarence and Lula (Diggs) Garris. Mr. Garris served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Thomas was united in marriage to the former Ina Thorburn on November 22, 1946 in Maumee, Ohio. Thomas had resided in Harrison since 1989, moving from Livonia, Michigan. Mr. Garris was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1075 of Harrison and the Clare Rod and Gun Club. Surviving Mr. Garris is his loving wife of sixty four years, Ina Garris of Harrison, two sons: Paul T. Garris of Garden City, Michigan and Danny C. Garris and wife Joanne also of Garden City, seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Christina, Amy, Andrew, Matthew, Jeffery and Erica, eight great-grandchildren: Eva, Evan, Natasha, Mackenzie, Jonathan, Robert, Joseph and Trinity. Mr. Garris was preceded in death by his parents. Inurnment for Mr. Garris will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Frost Township; Harrison, Michigan.
