Obituary for Arnold Eugene LaCombe Sr.

Arnold Eugene LaCombe Sr., age 75, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and served in the National Guard. In the early years, he worked on the USS North American and USS South American ships and in the later years, he worked at Lithibar and retired from Altron Automation. He was a member of the Michigan Racing Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his father, Mose LaCombe Sr. and mother, Laura LaCombe.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche and children:
Lark and Dave Roberts of Muskegon
Lugene and Paul Vander Kooi of Hamilton
Laura and William Hastings of Free Soil
Arnold (Spike) and Jody LaCombe Jr. of Holland
Leslie and Mark Woodwyk of Borculo

A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 2, 2007 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 North 152nd Avenue in Holland. Father Phil Nguyen will be officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland and also on Friday from 10-11 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Holland. An on-line registry book is available at for those who cannot attend the services.
