Gene Hand, age 73, of Holland died Monday, September 10, 2007 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Born July 29, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Clyde and Elva (Halbrook) Hand. Formerly of Stevensville, Michigan he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) and a Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University. He was vice-president of Clark Equipment Company in Benton Harbor, Michigan. After retirement from VME in 1992 he moved to Holland. He was a member of Holland Modular Railroad Club and enjoyed woodworking. He was married to Arlene Snavley on June 27, 1953 in Lansing, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Arlene and children:

Teri and Ed Lindenmayer of Zeeland
Donald and Lisa Hand of Woodstock, GA
Sister and brother:
Bev and Stan Shideler of Munster, Indiana
Joe and Nancy Hand of Harper, Texas

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Lakeshore Memorial Services 11939 James Street in Holland. Reverend James Baar will be officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 â€" 1:15 prior to the ceremony. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of oneâ€™s choice.
