Thom & Dickie, Willem & Wieke, Martha & Jan, Allard, Jorrit, Casper, Evelien, Bianca, Patrick.

So many fond memories of Piet and Sity over nearly 30 years of Dekker-Spoors parties and gatherings..he was like a larger than life personality...with that classic twinkle in his eyes, with always a warm ease that made all who knew him comfortable..I remember one wintry night at the Sinter Klaus Party just having a great time dancing, laughing, and enjoying the banter, and fun of a Dekker and friends party. Oom Piet and Mr. Minnema decided to be really Dutch I needed to savor some Dutch delicacies..The memory of the black soapy tasting licorice should have stopped me, but I took the challenge only to taste some raw herring and raw onion which quickly went into my ready napkin..Those two were laughing like naughty boys and teasing which was always good natured, and contagious..His was an example of a life truly lived well. Thinking about his time here with us he enjoyed his life until the very end ..Teaching, and instructing the rest of us along the way..Thank You Oom Piet.

I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Pete. Besides being my boss at the BPW, Pete and Sity were friends. Pete was smart, interesting and a lot of fun. I always enjoyed his pleasant, happy, jovial attitude and outlook. His heavy Dutch brough and stories about the old country were very entertaining. I recall watching Pete and Sity dance at a function long ago - they moved very gracefully clearly enjoying themselves and each other. A wonderful pair - we should all be so fortunate. For me, knowing Pete was a treat. My condolences to Sity and the family.

Mrs. Dekker, Shelly and I were sadden to hear of the passing of Mr. Dekker. The short time we had opportunity to spend with you both and Richie leave us with very pleasent memories. He was a man who truly enjoyed every day, and was willing to share that joy with all who he had contact with. He will be missed by all that came into contact with him. Allen and Shelly
