Obituary for Susan Jones

Sue Jones passed away Sunday August 19, 2012 after a battle with cancer. She is now riding her horses high in the sky.

She was born November 30, 1944 in Grand Rapids. She married William Jones in 1968. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in1998. Also passed are Mother, Norma Gleason Step Father, Denis Gleason, Father, Jack Salter, Sister, Joan Homer, brother in law, Robert Jones and mother and father in law, Donald and Rachel Jones.

She is survived by daughter, Chris and son in law, Roger Daling and son, Steve and daughter in law, Angie Jones, also 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Skyler and Seth. She is also survived by 3 sister in laws, Marilyn and Dennis Tuttle, Judith and Gerald Woolstonand, JayAnn Jones, and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was an Arabian Horse enthusiast for 45 years. She owned and operated Foresight Farm Arabians where she bred, raised and showed many horses to National Championships. She was very active in the St Clair County 4-H Youth Program, being the leader of Sunshine Saddle Club for 40 years. She shared her love and knowledge of horses with many youths and parents over the years by horseback riding lessons. She was the past president of the St Clair County 4-H Horse Leaders Association and current president of the St Clair County Arabian Horse Association. Her continuous devotion to children and animals was second to none.

A Memorial Potluck Celebration will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at the St Clair County Goodells Park, in the Community Building from 5-9 pm Please bring a dish to pass and your memories!

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up at Fifth Third Bank for Sue Jones.

Burial will be in Burtchville Cemetery.
