Florine M. Green age 92 of Ludington and formally of Scottville, passed away on April 27, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan. She was born January 19, 1921 daughter of the late Ezra and Margretta (Steimert) Dumas. She grew up in Scottville, attended school there and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and the St. Helena Society. Florine married Edward Green in 1936 and worked at the A&P in Scottville where her father was the manager. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Farmer’s Petroleum and the Hangup Fashion Store in Scottville. Florine later became a member of St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington and was a very dedicated Catholic. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Dominos and cards with her friends at the towers. Florine is survived by her daughters: Sharlene Bartlett of Ludington; Teresa (Daniel) Stoyka of Florida; grandchildren: Lynn Klenk, Jaden Drews, Elizabeth Elsey, Lorie Green, John, Eric and Andrew Green, Lisa Blowers, Holly DeRooey, Joshua and Loren Green. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1992, parents and children: Robert and Thomas Green and Edmond and Sandra Green who both died after birth, brothers: Ellsworth, Roy, Everett, Richard, Melbert and David Dumas, along with her sisters: Ruth Galligan and Gertrude Greiner. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St Simon Catholic Church. Final interment will take place at St. Mary’s Riverside Cemetery in Custer.
