<p>Brenda Ellen Theisen, age 62 of Manistee went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 19, 2021, reuniting with her son Sean Michael Tomes.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born on September 23, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Clement G. &amp; Marion E. (Richardson) Theisen. She was a graduate of Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit.</p><p><br></p><p>Brenda got great joy from reading her Bible each morning. She fed the squirrels every day and liked watching them play. She also liked to read books and poetry. She was always working on a puzzle and enjoyed needlepoint projects. She loved writing in journals, she had many filled. Brenda really liked playing games on Facebook, but most important the many friends she reconnected with through Facebook.</p><p><br></p><p>Brenda relocated to South Lake Tahoe California in 1993. She enjoyed camping, hiking, kayaking, and snowshoeing. While living in California she was an active member of Sierra Community Church in Tahoe. She participated in Bible study groups, women’s ministry, and attended Sunday services. Brenda’s pastor, Dan in Tahoe sent this from the Book of John: 11:25,26. “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die.” Pastor Dan said Brenda believed that truth will all her heart.</p><p><br></p><p>She moved back to Michigan in 2017. With her sister Linda, they would take walks on the Manistee River Walk and sit in the park across from Lake Michigan in the summer for the free concerts. Often they would just drive to First Street Beach and look at the lake thinking how lucky they were to live in Manistee within 5 minutes of Lake Michigan.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her sisters; Linda Theisen of Manistee, Michigan, Janis Theisen of Pleasanton, California, Phyllis Cholette of Copemish, Michigan, &amp; Carolyn Theisen also of Manistee, Michigan, brother’s; Daniel Theisen &amp; Valerie of Lake Orion, Michigan, and Jim Theisen &amp; Joanne of Brownstown, Michigan as well as several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Joanne Theisen &amp; Patricia Theisen.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements by the Oak Grove Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Center in Manistee.</p><p><br></p>
