Obituary for Alice Elizabeth Koch

Alice Elizabeth Koch
June 2, 1927 – November 18, 2010

Alice Elizabeth Riley was born in Richmond Hill, New York on June 2, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Michael Riley and the late Anastasia (McInerny) Riley.

Alice married Robert Koch on June 11, 1950 in Floral Park, Long Island, New York. She took on the responsibility of being a stay at home mother and homemaker for the couples four children. Alice was referred to by her children as lovable and wonderful. Being a full-time parent didn’t leave much time for self gratification but Alice did take the opportunity when it was available to go line dancing. Being a mother and caretaker also led her to find a passion with soup kitchens. After the children left home she spent more than twenty years as a volunteer in New York City. Several years ago she moved to the Carleton area to be closer to her daughters. She made her home with Linda and became a member of the Huron Senior Citizens.

Alice Elizabeth Koch age 83 of Carleton formerly of New York City passed away at 8:07am, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Rivergate Health Center in Riverview, Michigan. Her loving family was at her side. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by eight siblings, and two sons-in-law: Calvin Earhart Jr. and Douglas Delezenne.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 60 years: Robert of Carleton; three daughters: Linda Earhart of Carleton, Elizabeth Daniel of Cannon City, Colorado, and Margaret Delezenne of Southgate, Michigan; one son: Robert “Bob” (Kimberly) Koch Jr. of Ridge, New York; five grandchildren: Calvin Earhart III, Malcolm Weldon, Justin Koch, Alexa Koch, and Robert Koch III; five great grandchildren: Calvin Earhart IV, Makoa Weldon, Malcolm Weldon Jr., Mallory Weldon, and Gabriel Weldon.

Friends may gather on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road in Holly Michigan for a graveside service. Pastor Arthur Oberg will officiate.

Memorial donations for those who desire are suggested to the Koch Family.
