David Thomas Walerius was born on August 17, 1948 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of five children born from the union of the late James and the late Josephine (Petit) Walerius.
David married his best friend and love of his life, the former Karen Craft on October 4, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. From this union came the birth of three beautiful children. He supported his family for a number of years through JB Hunt, working as a collision repairman. David later went into business for himself, his passion for custom golf carts led him to open his own shop, Great Lakes Golf Carts.
David was known for his gentle spirits and his fun, loving sense of humor. He was an honest man and never blinked an eye when someone was in need of a helping hand. When he wasn’t building golf carts, he could usually be found tinkering around the house or out in the garage as he was very talented working with his hands. David enjoyed taking long rides around Michigan watching the seasons change, and peaceful nights watching his favorite TV shows.
