Obituary for Kelechi James Providence Amadi

Kelechi James Providence Amadi
July 7, 1986 – July 19, 2015
Kelechi James Providence Amadi was born in Binghamton, New York on July 7, 1986. He was one of five children born from the union of Paul and Bernadette (Harris) Amadi. He was a 2004 graduate of Monroe High School. After high school he attended Monroe County Community College.
Kalechi had several favorite pastimes including listening to music, reading, and writing poems. Kalechi was very outgoing and loved being around people; he would often tell jokes and loved to make others laugh. This pleasant aptitude of Kelechi along with his devoted heart toward family is something that will be missed and never forgotten. For the past six years, Kelechi had battled with cancer and treatment complications, while staying strong and courageous. Unfortunately the battle ended with Kelechi, age 29, of Monroe, losing his life. Kelechi is in all of our hearts and will be truly missed. We love you Kelechi.
To cherish his memory he leaves his loving parents: Paul and Bernadette Amadi of Monroe; four siblings: Chidiebere Gregory Amadi of California, Uchenna Francis (Angel Renee) Amadi of Newport, Chisomaga Patrick (Cheyenne) Amadi of Monroe and Obinna Paul Jr. Amadi of Monroe; seven uncles: Uzoma (Regina) Osuji of Nigeria, Paul (Michelle) Harris of West Virginia, John Harris of West Virginia, James (Mary) Judge of North Carolina, John (Uloma) Amadi of Nigeria, Young Chisomaga (Ngozi) Amadi of Nigeria, and Linus Anavanwu (Bernadette) Amadi of Nigeria; a nephew: Ezrah Patrick Laine Amadi; and many cousins.
Friends may gather from 9:30am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 511 South Monroe Street. Father Bob Singelyn and Deacon Mike Stewart will be officiating. Procession will follow to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Monroe for final entombment.
