Raymond Arlo Pfund was born October 9, 1939 in Monroe. He was born from the union of the late Raymond A. Pfund Sr. and the late Betty (Quick) Uhlik. Graduating from Monroe High School in 1957, he later honorably served in the United States Army.
Raymond married the love of his life Elaine Holeman on July 21, 1962. From this union would come two beautiful children. Raymond supported his family for seventeen years working at La-Z-Boy Incorporated until they closed, and as a steel worker at North Star for twenty-four years as a saw operator taking retirement in 2003.
Raymond was quite the jokester, always poking fun at others. Often at times, no one could take him seriously. He was an avid fisherman who could not wait to get then next “catch.” He liked bowling, spending time at the casino and was an enthusiastic Tiger and Cub fan. Raymond thought the world of his family, enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to the next family birthday or holiday. In his quiet time, he enjoyed relaxing on his back porch and feeding the birds.
