Orval Duane Gardner NASHVILLE - Orval Duane Gardner, 79, of Nashville, Michigan, passed to his heavenly home on Monday, August 21, 2017. Duane was born December 13, 1937, in Freeport, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and Theda (Weeks) Gardner. Duane was a tool and die machinist until his retirement. Not one to just sit around and do nothing, he loved to tinker in his workshop restoring Model A cars and many different tractors. Duane is survived by his children, Russell (Pam) Gardner of Nashville, Rebecca (Blain) Becktold of Spring Lake, Karen (Richard) Mallison of Nashville, Andrea Stull of Nashville, nine grandchildren, Angela (John) Scholten, Jennifer Gardner, Ashley (Buck) Proctor, Sarah Remenar, Julie (Kyle) Lackscheide, Jeremy Mallison, Stephanie Mallison, Ricky Stull, Brandon Stull, and 16 great-grandchildren, and sister Loretta Pixley (Larry Hook). Duane was predeceased by his wife Janet Gardner, and his parents Kenneth and Theda Gardner. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and then again one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10 AM on Friday. Funeral services will be held Friday August 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Karen Kinney of the United Methodist Church in Nashville, will serve as officiant. The family has entrusted Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville with handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you consider a donation to the Nashville Ambulance Service, 300 East Casgrove Street, Nashville, MI 49073.
