Virginia Rose Scott Virginia Rose Scott age 92 passed away on April 15, 2017 at Eaton Community Palliative Care Facility in Charlotte, MI Virginia was born June 11, 1924 to Fredrick and Beulah (Briggs) King. Virginia graduated from Vermontville High School. On December 29, 1945 she married Sherman Scott. They were married for 67 wonderful years. Virginia started her career at the State of Michigan and then stayed home raising her family. She began working at Andy's Restaurant in Charlotte after her children were in school. Virginia retired from Michigan National Bank in Vermontville after 6 years. Sherman and Virginia traveled to Florida for the winter for over 20 years where they enjoyed many of their family and friends from Michigan. Virginia enjoyed many hobbies, golfing, knitting, crocheting, word search, and weekly card games with her precious friends. In her early years Virginia was an avid gardner preserving fruits and vegetables. No one ever left her house hungry, as she always had cookies pies or cake. She would fix a meal for her grand children any time of the day. Her greatest love was for her children and grand children. She got much joy celebrating each and every birthday and holiday with her family. When her family was young, they would go camping almost every weekend spending time on many Northern Michigan Lakes. Virginia is survived by her son Sherman Charles (Judy) Scott of Vermontville, daughter Cathy Powers of East Leroy, grand children Shawn (Becky) Scott, Shane (Laura) Scott, Holly Lea, Heather (Jeff) Haley, Scott (Kendra) Spitzer, and 12 great grand children, and one on the way, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Sherman, daughter Karen Rose Scott, twin brother Virgil, and sisters Goldie, Adilade,Thelma, and Frieda. Funeral services are being conducted privately at Virginia's request. Memorial contributions can be made to the Eaton Community Palliative Care Facility, Charlotte, MI. in Virginia's name. Our special thanks go to Charlotte EMS, McLaren Hospice, and the staff at Eaton Community Palliative Care Facility. Your care and kindness to our mom and family was deeply appreciated.
