Age 82, went to be with Jesus on October 28, 2015. She was born on July 19, 1933 to Joseph and Hilda Bengel. She retired from the State of Michigan, Department of Management and Budget. Adeline was a member of St. Mary's Church in Westphalia, serving the Lord in various ways within the Parish. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society. Her focus was always on her faith and family, she supported her children in everything they did and loved being involved in all their activities. Adeline enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, traveling and sewing, she even made her own beautiful wedding dress. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan Thelen; brother, Robert Bengel; son-in-law, Kurt Ludwick and brothers-in-law, Edgar Thelen, Donald Weber and Arnold Pohl. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Vern, who did so much to care for her; children Karen (Steve) Hanses, Linda Ludwick, Gary (Marilyn) Schneider and Denise (Neil) Simon; grandchildren Jeremy, Justin, Ryan, Kyle, Josh, Marisa, Jessica, Damon, Matt and Scott; great grandchildren Lauren, Kalyssa; siblings Jeanette Pohl, Rose (Jerome) Smith, Rich (Alice) Bengel and Aggie (Charlie) George; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Thelen and Gladys Bengel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Mary's Church. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St. The rosaries will be prayed at 5:30 p.m., Sunday and 1:30 and 5:30 p.m., Monday at the chapel.
