Albert Vroman Obituary

Albert L. Vroman of Portland Age 85, passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 23, 1927 in Lansing, Michigan the son of Maurice and Zelma (Verlinde) Vroman. Mr. Vroman was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Albert worked in construction his whole life, and he was the owner/operator of A.D.L. Corporation since the mid 1960's. He loved his winter home in Puerto Rico, loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed gambling and the value of hard work. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister-in-law, Nancy Vroman. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Patricia Vroman; children, Pam Benner of Portland, Dan (Bobbie) Vroman of Grand Ledge, Gwen (Rocky) Rockwell of Jacksonville, FL, Rod (Karen) Vroman of Portland, and Shelly Stedman of Portland; grandchildren, Nick (Jennifer), Ginger (Craig), Ryan (Jenney), Tiffany, Corey (Nikki), Kyle (Stacy), and Mike; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Leo (Marge) Vroman of Lake Odessa, Rosie (Harold) Ball of Lowell, and George Vroman of Portland; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
