Age 62, went to be with God on Sunday, October 5, 2003.  She was born the daughter of Norm and Irene (Riley) Handlon on April 22, 1941 in Hubbardston, MI.  Alice attended the Ss. Peter and Paul Academy and married Bud Montgomery on July 26, 1958 in Ionia.  She was the Secretary and Treasurer of Montgomery Excavating and Sherwood Forest.  She loved art, painting, and leaded glass lamps.  She was very artistic and loved gardening and decorating.  Alice was dearly loved by all those who knew her and she touched so many lives.  She was preceded in death by her parents; step father Jed Vance; sister, Peggy Lafler.  Alice left behind her husband of 45 years, Bud; She cherished her children and grandchildren, Tammie (John) Bauer of Ionia, Dana (Scot) Youngstrom of Ionia, and Chris (Laura) Montgomery of Ionia; grandchildren, Joshua Fox, Dylan, Garrett, and Demi Youngstrom, Morgan, Connor, Ashton, and Jackson Montgomery; 2 brothers, Brian (Colleen) Vance of Alaska, and Greg (Robin) Vance of Hubbardston; 4 sisters, Amy Vance of Grand Ledge, Sharon (Thomas) Patterson of Florida, Judy (Bill) Beyer of Ionia, and Norma (Ken) Coryell of Ionia.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Melvin Fox, Pastor at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  The Rite of Committal will take place at East Plains Cemetery in Matherton at 2:30 p.m. that day.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
