Anita Furman

Age 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. She was born on April 8, 1925 in Ionia the daughter of Clyde and Fern (Spangler) Mosier. Mrs. Furman was employed at Michigan Bell in Ionia as an operator and also worked as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Muir. She attended the Muir Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Evergreen Chapter #334 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lyons. She married Ralph Furman in 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents; Surviving are 2 sons, David (Jeanette) Furman of Ionia and Douglas (Christina) Furman of Florida; 4 daughters, Diane (William) Bennett of Escanaba, Dona (Dave) Gillson of Orleans, Marsha Carrizales of Fenwick, and Fern (Doug) Feehan of Belding; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Elsie (Albert) Furman of Saranac. The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Bert Nelson, Pastor at 11 am Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Lyons Muir Church, 1074 Olmstead Rd., Muir with interment following at Muir Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice or to the Lyons Muir Church in memory of Mrs. Anita M. Furman.
