Portland Age 90, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010. She was born on April 11, 1920 in Portland the daughter of Will and Josephine (Knoop) Pohl. Anna was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Lake Odessa. She enjoyed baking especially chocolate chip cookies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 1990; 1 sister and 1 brother. Surviving are her children Agnes (Philip) Schrauben of Portland, Ronald (Deb) Thelen of Portland, Roger (Karen) Thelen of Lake Odessa, Phillip (Jan) Thelen of Portland, Marie (Robert) Tack of Armada, MI., Gladys (Jodey) Lafler of Clarksville, Gregory (Kristine) Thelen of Lake Odessa, and George (Penny) Thelen of Portland; grandchildren Josh (Emily Einhorn) Meyers, Matt (LeAnn) Meyers, Sara (Jeremy) Russman, Mark (Katie) Meyers, Tracy (Corey) Dahms, Logan Thelen, Lucas Thelen, Jason Thelen, Jessica Thelen, Lindsey Thelen, Eric Thelen, Kyle (Abbey) Thelen, Alex (Nichole) Thelen, Kim (Matt) Morgan, Heather Tack, Shandel (Joel) Noe, Jr., Michelle (Drew) Sifton, Gabriel (Manda) Lafler, Rachel (Lee) Sifton, Corey (Stephanie) Thelen, Kelsey Thelen, Cassie Thelen, Allison Thelen, MacKenzie Thelen; great grandchildren Tyler and Emily Meyers, Kurtis and Raelyn Meyers, Erica and Jerred Russman, Mark Jr., Bradley and Derek Meyers, Addison Dahms, Easton Thelen, Parker, Grayce and Sawyer Thelen, Cael, Caden, Connor, Cameron Morgan, Trent, Delaeni, Mitch and Brandt Noe, Ethan, Olivia, Aiden Sifton, Damien Ward and Hayze Sifton; sisters Janet Fedewa, Agnes Schneider and Mary Simon; several in-laws, nieces and nephews; her "special mom" at Heartland Healthcare, Arletta Dibble. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Hack officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.
