Age 68, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2004.  She was born on August 3, 1935 in Lyons, MI the daughter of James R. and Marion B. (Hendrick) Hampshire.  Ardith graduated from Ionia High School in 1953 and trained at Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an R.N. in 1956.  She worked at Butterworth, then in 1960 attended Wayne State University in Detroit, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She attended Columbia Bible College in South Carolina.  She served with Latin America Mission as a nurse in Costa Rica and Columbia from 1964 to 1980.  On her return to the U.S. she studied and became a pediatric nurse practitioner.  She worked through the 1980's in Elkhart, IN., then moved to Holland, MI., where she worked until her retirement.  She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Holland, and volunteered her time at the Holland Museum, and in an afterschool program for elementary school children.  Miss Hampshire is survived by her sister, Sandra Wright of Whitby, Ontario, Canada; five nieces and nephews; a great niece; two great nephews; two aunts and many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Terrance in 1990, her father, James in 1992, and her mother, Marion in 2002.  A Memorial Service will be held in the spring at Trinity Reformed Church in Holland, a date and time will be announced later.  The family is being served by the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home Cook Chapel, 220 Rich St., Ionia, MI  48846.
