Barbara Jean Bauer Barb died surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 30, 2006. She was born in Detroit to Charles and Mary (Cisar) Vanecek. Barb is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Robert; son, Steven; daughter, Elizabeth; sister, Maryann (Joseph) Dietlin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward (Catherine) Vanecek. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow in Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-9 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. They will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University of Michigan-Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Development, 310 E.
