Harris, Carl L. Lansing Age 66, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2005. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Lansing the son of Orville and Mabel (Steele) Harris. Carl was the head custodian at Michigan State University for 23 years and enjoyed fishing, and bird watching. He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law, Florence Hoppes. Surviving ar his wife of 33 years, Kate; sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Schmidt of Holt and Joyce Harris of Lansing; father-in-law, Robert Hoppes, Sr. of Portland; sister and brother-in-laws, Robert (Linda) Hoppes, Jr. of Portland, Vicki (Al) Richar of Tekonsha, Mary (Dan) Ferguson, Joyce Hoppes, Jeanne (Tommy Grawburg) Hoppes, Judy (Rob) Barr, Julie (Gene) Ridenour, Marsha (Dan) Gambill, and John Hoppes all of Portland; many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Dale B. Sawyer, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.
