Caroline Marjorie Rockey Portland Age 76, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Westphalia, Michigan the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Schafer) Smith. Caroline was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Post 4090 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and with her family. Caroline is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Robert, Ambrose, Joseph and Charles; sister, Roberta Weber; and special mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rockey. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Leo; children, Carol (William) Mitchell, Karen (Tom) Graft, Bob (Bonnie) Rockey, Ann (Junior) Miller, Dan (Jessica) Rockey, Barb (Steve) Wilcox, Kathy Rockey and Lisa (Chad) Barker; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and brother, Simon (Revella) Smith. Brother-in-law Harold (Judy) Rockey; sister-in-law Joan Rockey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 8 p.m., Wednesday. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com.
