Charles "Charlie" L. Fox Ionia formerly of Lyons Age 86, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016. He was born on March 5, 1930 in Lansing and married Dorothy Kenyon on June 30, 1956 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. He was a longtime member of the church and the Knights of Columbus. Charlie enjoyed going to coffee at the Bluewater Cafe in Ionia and taking rides around the city. Charlie was a caring and loving dad and grandpa as well as neighbor and friend to all. He will be sadly missed by all of us. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Kenyon) Fox; sister, Barbara Fox; niece, Renada Schafer; brothers-in-law Kenneth Schafer and Robert H. Cook. Surviving are his daughter, Mary Ann (Blane) Monroe of Lyons; grandson Matthew (Brooke) Monroe of Muir; Brothers Philip (Carol) Fox of Ionia and George (Diane) Fox of Lansing; sisters Lucille Schafer of Muir and Helen Cook of Portland; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Boufford at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Ss. Peters and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will be held in Balcom Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia.
