Charles H. Wohlscheid

Age 84, passed away on March 6, 2006. He was born on July 5, 1921 in Eagle the son Anthony and Gladys (Patrick) Wohlscheid. Charles was a lifelong area farmer, who enjoyed talking to anybody that would listen. He enjoyed making bluebird houses and going to Burger King. He was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church and retired from Michigan Supply Co. in 1983. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances sister, Joyce Gibbs, brother-in-law, William Galey, sister-in-law, Verna Wohlscheid. Surviving are his sons, Tom (Janet) and Gary (Patty) both of Portland and Chuck (Diane) Jr. of Eagle. Grandchildren Mike (Diania), Scott (Hailey), Angie (Lu), Kelly (Dave), Gary (Rocio) Jr., Larry, Beth (Ryan), Heather (Chris), Valerie (Matt) and Tony; 12 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Howard Wohlscheid of Portland and Robert Wohlscheid of Ionia; sister Dortha Galey of Portland. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Gregory R. Wolfe, Portland United Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will be in North Eagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
