Age 51, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008. He was born on October 24, 1956 in Lansing the son of Leon and Carol (Patten) Hoppes. Chris was a very caring person who had many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Hoppes in 1971. Surviving are his mother, Carol Hoppes of Portland; father, Leon Hoppes of Eaton Rapids; daughter, Krista (Dean) Stauffer of Portland; 2 grandchildren, Braydon and Elleanna Stauffer; loving girlfriend, Brenda Harper of Portland; 2 sisters, Lynn (Tim) Smith of Grand Ledge and Peggy (Mike) English of Potterville; 4 nephews and 2 nieces. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 11 - 1 p.m. at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland, MI. Interment will take place at Danby Cemetery.
