Clara Belle Pline (Weaver) Portland, Michigan. Born April 21, 1927 in Ionia the daughter of Edward & Sylvia (Duso) Weaver finally joined her beloved, Gaylord, in their eternal home on April 23, 2006. Clara married J. Gaylord Pline in April 1946; they enjoyed a happy and loving marriage and had seven sons. Mrs. Pline was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland and she enjoyed gardening, needlework, her family and their Portland farm. She will be missed as she loved her family and friends greatly. Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. Clara was always willing to help anyone in need. Everyone who knew Clara benefited from her wisdom, her humor, her compassion, and her strong faith. She taught us to tolerate differences, to love each other, and to value family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Ruth Mellinger & Norine Zeller, 3 brothers Charlie, Joe and Bernie Weaver, 2 sons Joseph and Steven. Surviving are her sons Thomas (Maureen), Michael (Jane), Patrick (Suzie), Daniel (Sue), Christopher (Judy), 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister Edna "Doodle" Keeney, a brother Tom (Arlene) Weaver, two sisters-in-law Margaret Marsh and Beverly Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Rev. Larry King presiding. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. For those wishing, contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in memory of Mrs. Pline. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hazel Findlay Country Manor for the loving care they provided.
